Veo, Kling or Runway: which AI video tool for ads?

Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0, Runway, Seedance and Gemini Omni compared for video ads: clip length, format, audio, price per second, licence and EU rules.

There is no best AI video tool for ads, but there is a best tool per shot. Veo 3.1 and Kling 3.0 are strong at product shots that end on your real packshot, Kling and Seedance 2.5 at longer shots, and Veo 3.1 Fast and Gemini Omni Flash at cheap variants. No model officially speaks Dutch or French.

In our studio for AI video production, we work with Veo, Kling, Runway, Seedance and Higgsfield, and we test new models continuously [1]. All specs below come from the makers themselves, checked on 27 September 2026. This field changes monthly: check them again before you decide.

Choose per shot, not per project

Judge a tool on what matters for an ad: does your product stay recognisable, can it do vertical, how long is a shot, what does a second cost and can you use the result commercially?

Seedance 2.5 (ByteDance)30 s, extendable twiceYesAn estimated $0.103 (480p) to $0.569 (1080p) [10][11]
  • Veo 3.1 fixes both a first and a last frame and uses up to three reference images. For 1080p, 4K and references, you need 8-second clips. In the EU, Veo only generates adults, and every video gets a SynthID watermark [2].
  • Gemini Omni Flash combines generating and editing, also with short video clips as a reference. Editing or extending your own videos isn't available in the EEA, Switzerland and the UK [4].
  • Kling 3.0 makes up to six shots per generation with a first and last frame [7], and has built-in speech in five languages, not including Dutch [6].
  • Runway Gen-4.5 offers the most aspect ratios for image to video, from 21:9 to 9:16 [9]. Its plans cost $12 to $76 a month billed annually and also give access to other models, such as Kling and Seedance [12].
  • Seedance 2.5 accepts up to 50 references per request [13]. We were unable to check its terms for commercial use.
  • Higgsfield is mainly a platform for other makers' models, plus its own tools for camera movement and effects [14]; its plans cost €19 to €99 a month billed annually [15].

Sora no longer exists: OpenAI shut down the app on 26 April 2026 and the API on 24 September 2026 [16]. Rankings that still recommend Sora are out of date.

Make voice and music separately

None of the video models above officially supports Dutch or French [2][4][6][13]. With Eleven v3, ElevenLabs supports more than 70 languages, including both [17]; the commercial licence is included in plans from Starter, at $6 a month [18]. For music, we use Artlist [1].

Can you use the result commercially?

That depends on the plan, not the tool:

  • Google claims no ownership of what you generate; anyone offering apps to users in the EEA must use the paid services [19].
  • Runway doesn't restrict commercial use [20], but videos from the free plan get a watermark [21].
  • Kling doesn't allow commercial use without written permission under its general terms, and requires a "Kling AI" credit [22]. For paying members, commercial use isn't restricted and the watermark may be removed [23].
  • Midjourney requires a Pro or Mega plan for companies with more than a million dollars in annual revenue [24].
  • Higgsfield grants commercial usage rights on all paid plans [15].

What does one video ad cost in compute?

An example calculation: an ad of four shots, with five takes of 8 seconds per shot, gives 160 generated seconds (an assumption, not a measurement). That costs $64 with Veo 3.1 in 1080p and $19.20 with Veo 3.1 Fast [3]. With Kling 3.0 in 1080p with audio it is $26.88 [8], and with Seedance 2.5 in 1080p $91.04 [11].

Those amounts pale next to the hours spent choosing takes, checking your product and editing; see what does a video ad cost? Cheap variants do matter if you need new openings every few weeks. When that is the case is covered in creative fatigue on Meta.

What a tool doesn't solve

The best model won't turn a weak idea into a good ad. The hook, the script, the choice of takes, checking your product, the edit and the decision on an AI label remain human work. The step-by-step plan for that is in from product photo to video ad with AI.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI video generator for ads?

There isn't a single best one. Choose per shot based on product fidelity, format, length, price and licence, and compare a few takes. For product shots, Veo 3.1 and Kling 3.0 are strong, for long shots Seedance 2.5, and for cheap variants Veo 3.1 Fast.

What does Veo 3.1 cost per second?

Via the Gemini API, $0.40 per second in 720p or 1080p and $0.60 in 4K, sound included. Veo 3.1 Fast costs $0.10 to $0.30 and Veo 3.1 Lite $0.05 to $0.08 per second (prices as of 27 September 2026).

Can an AI video tool speak Dutch?

Not officially. Google says Veo 3.1 and Gemini Omni are only fully supported in English, and Kling 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 don't mention Dutch or French. Make the voice-over separately, for example with ElevenLabs.

Does Sora still exist?

No. OpenAI shut down the Sora app and website on 26 April 2026, and the Sora API on 24 September 2026.

Which AI video tools does Izoard use?

The studio page lists Veo 3, Nano Banana, Higgsfield, Artlist, HyperFrames, ElevenLabs, Runway, Midjourney, Kling and Seedance, among others. The models change fast; the studio tests them continuously and works with whatever gives the best result at that moment.
